Much of my ceramic work is informed by my environment. I love taking inspiration from the natural world: branches, leaves, and flowers. More recently, I’ve seen my work take a more architectural form.
My sense of place is layered and shifting. I was born in the United States as an “anchor baby,” with my earliest memories rooted in Jakarta, Indonesia. I spent my formative years in California, moving between the lush, autumnal San Francisco Bay Area and the sunlit, coastal landscapes of San Diego.
In 2024, I moved to Europe, beginning in Paris, continuing through the Côte d’Azur, and eventually settling in Barcelona.
My work references the architectural and environmental elements of these places, paying homage to the spaces that have shaped me. Ceramics, for me, is a labor of love, an ongoing process of grounding and remembering. As a perpetual immigrant, I use material and form to express my love for the many places I have called home.
