Glissando

2013

Glissando was one of my first experiments with Processing. As an ex-trombone player, I've always been captivated by the unique tonal qualities of brass instruments. My particular affection lies with the trombone, notable for its distinctive slide mechanism. This feature allows it to execute a “glissando” – a smooth transition between notes, which is virtually unparalleled in other instruments. This project, crafted using the Processing programming language, is an homage to this musical technique. I aimed to illustrate the sliding of notes into a visual medium, creating an interactive experience that resonates with both musicians and technologists alike.
